14th World Bridge Games 2012 - Lille, France - Blog 3
Posted 08 August 2012 by Ron
Suzie and I spent Tuesday in London. Noticed the Underground Train were all painted red, white and blue. Lots of volunteers around. They helped us cart our suitcases up some flights of stairs. Very helpful. Some stations have escalators and elevators, but some have stairs only. How silly is that?
Also at some places where there are 5-6 stairs, they could put in a ramp for those with suitcases.
Volunteers were handing out free ice creams. The Salvos were handing out free bottles of water. Newspapers were given out free.
The less said about the hotel where we stayed the better, but we enjoyed a delightful dinner with our nephew Lee and his fiancé Laura at Mishkins in Covent Garden.
